Refund policy

30-day returns. If you change your mind, you can return any piece within 30 days of delivery for a full refund of the price you paid.

Orders placed between 1 November and 24 December can be returned until 31 January.

How to return

  1. Tell us within 30 days of delivery. Either:
    • use the return link on your order page or in your order email;
    • or email hello@craftsoftibet.com with your order number.

We'll reply within 24 hours with the return address (our gallery in Kathmandu) and simple instructions.

  2. Send the piece back within 14 days of telling us, rolled in its tube, in the condition you received it.
  3. We refund you within 14 days of receiving the piece, or of receiving proof that you've sent it, whichever comes first. The refund goes to your original payment method. Delivery is free, so there's nothing extra to refund for it.

Return postage

  • If you change your mind, you pay the return postage. We recommend a tracked courier, because a lost return can't be refunded. As a guide, an express return to Kathmandu costs about US$50–100, depending on your country.
  • Mark the parcel "returned goods" and declare its real value. We'll send you the wording to use, so that you aren't charged duty on the way back.
  • If the piece arrived damaged, or isn't what we described, we pay for the return. See "Damaged or not as described" below.

What can't be returned

  • Gift cards.
  • Brocade mounting (when offered) is made to order for you. If you return a painting you ordered with brocade mounting, we refund the painting but not the mounting charge. If you're in the EU or UK and use your 14-day right to cancel (below), we refund the mounting charge too.
  • Paintings commissioned to your own design can't be returned unless they're faulty. We'll confirm this in writing before we start.

Damaged or not as described

  • Please check your piece when it arrives. If it's damaged, or not what we described, email us with photos as soon as you can.
  • We'll refund you in full, including any return postage. Because every painting is one of a kind, we can't always replace it like-for-like, but we'll offer a similar piece if you'd prefer one.

Your legal rights

These rights come on top of our 30-day returns, and nothing in this policy limits them.

  • Australia: our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For a major failure with a product, you are entitled to a refund or replacement.
  • EU and UK (right to cancel): you can cancel your order within 14 days of the day you, or someone you name, receive the piece, without giving a reason.
    • To cancel, tell us clearly. Use the "Withdraw from contract" link on your order page or in your order email, email hello@craftsoftibet.com, or send the model form below. It's enough to send your message before the 14 days end.
    • Send the piece back within 14 days of cancelling.
    • We refund everything you paid within 14 days of your cancellation. We may wait until we have the piece back, or proof that you've sent it.
    • You pay the direct cost of returning it. You're only responsible for any loss in value caused by handling the piece beyond what's needed to examine it.
