These terms apply when you use craftsoftibet.com or buy from us. "We" means Crafts of Tibet (ABN 92 700 294 821), of Spring Mountain, Queensland 4300, Australia.

  • If you buy as a consumer, you also keep every right the consumer law of your country gives you. Nothing in these terms takes those rights away.
  • Australia: our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

1. What we sell

  • Hand-painted thangkas from our gallery in Thamel, Kathmandu, plus singing bowls and bells.
  • Every painting is one of a kind. The photos show the actual piece. Colours vary a little between screens, and hand-painted lines aren't perfectly regular; that's part of the work.
  • Sizes: sizes are of the whole painting, including its painted border. For pieces already mounted in silk brocade, we also give the overall mounted size. Sizes are measured by hand, so allow ±1–2 cm.
  • Grades (Classic, Fine, Master, Collector) are our own assessment of the painting's quality, from its photo and what our gallery paid for it. They are an honest opinion to help you compare, not a valuation or a certificate of value.
  • Materials: we name a painting's materials only when the gallery has declared them in writing.

2. Prices and payment

  • Prices are in US dollars, or Australian dollars for Australia. They include GST where it applies.
  • Other currencies: if you pay in another currency, your bank or card provider sets the conversion rate.
  • Import charges in your country aren't included. See our shipping policy.
  • Payment is taken when you place your order. We accept the methods shown at checkout.
  • Price errors: if a price is obviously wrong (for example a typing error), we'll tell you before we ship. You can then pay the correct price or cancel for a full refund.

3. Your order

  • Sold elsewhere: our pieces are also on show in our gallery, so very occasionally one sells in the gallery before the website is updated. If that happens, we'll tell you within 24 hours and refund you in full the same day.
  • When the contract starts: the contract is made when we confirm your order by email.
  • Refusing an order: we may refuse an order if we can't deliver to the address, or suspect fraud. We'll refund you in full.

4. Delivery

  • Delivery is free on paintings sent from our gallery in Kathmandu, and on pieces held in Queensland (sold in Australia only).
  • Dispatch times, carriers and import charges are in our shipping policy.
  • Risk in the piece passes to you when it's delivered.

5. Returns and cancellations

See our returns policy: 30-day returns, plus the 14-day right to cancel for buyers in the EU and UK.

6. Discount codes and offers

  • Discount codes apply only during the dates stated, can't be combined unless we say so, and can't be exchanged for cash.
  • "Make an offer": an accepted offer is valid for the time stated in our reply.

7. Reviews and content you send us

  • Reviews: if you write a review, you allow us to publish it with your first name. Reviews must be genuine and about your own purchase. We don't edit reviews, and we only remove ones that are unlawful, offensive or not about the product.

8. Our content

The photos and text on this site belong to Crafts of Tibet or are used with permission. Please don't copy them for commercial use without asking.

9. Liability

  • Your consumer rights come first. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, including under the Australian Consumer Law and your own country's consumer law.
  • Otherwise, our liability for any order is limited to the price you paid for it, and we're not liable for indirect losses.

10. Law and disputes

  • Governing law: these terms are governed by the law of Queensland, Australia. If you're a consumer elsewhere, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your own country, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
  • If something goes wrong, please email us first; most problems are solved quickly.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The version on this page when you order applies to that order.
