Red Amitabha Buddha sits in meditation on a pink lotus, holding a blue bowl in his joined hands, in a green robe and a patterned outer robe edged with gold-coloured scrollwork, his blue hair in tight curls.

A pale green halo traced with gold-coloured scrolls and a dark aureole of fine gold-coloured rays, rimmed with a gold-coloured band set with red and blue swirl roundels, frame him among green leaves, pink lotus buds and flowers, against a black sky that turns yellow at the horizon.

Below the seat, a gold-coloured bowl holding a jewel ornament and a pair of tusks rests on a pink lotus on a green ground, and broad gold-coloured scrollwork with pink lotuses fills the black corners and sides, inside a dark grey border.

Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.

Size: 53 × 67 cm (20.9 × 26.4 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
