Buddha Life Story Thangka – 44×55 cm, Fine Grade
Shakyamuni Buddha sits at the centre holding a bowl, framed by a rayed aureole before a palace, with his two disciples standing on either side holding staffs and a Dharma wheel below his throne.
Scenes of his life spread across the painting in soft pinks, blues and greens with dense gold-coloured line work, among palaces, stupas and trees: his passing into nirvana below the centre and his meditation beneath a tree at the bottom, with elephants and a peacock near the lower corners.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas. Unmounted: it comes rolled, ready to frame or to have mounted.
Size: 44 × 55 cm (17.3 × 21.7 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
In the box: the painting, rolled (never folded) in a strong tube.
