Tsongkhapa sits on an orange lotus in a yellow pointed hat, his hands at his heart in the teaching gesture holding the stems of two blue lotuses that carry a flaming sword and a book at his shoulders, his red and orange robes patterned in gold-coloured line work.

A pale green halo ringed in orange and a gold-coloured aureole set with blue, red and green jewels frame him, with pink and orange peonies on either side and blue clouds in a deep blue sky with a crescent moon and a sun.

Below, a round gold-coloured jewel emblem rests on a blue lotus above a stream between green hills, with an offering of jewels at the foot, inside a red border.

Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.

Size: 42 × 55 cm (16.5 × 21.7 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
