Dorje Drolo Thangka – 81×116 cm, Master Grade
Dorje Drolo rides a striding tigress that tramples a pink prone figure, his red wrathful face with three eyes, flaming brows and fangs set under curling hair, raising a vajra in his red right hand and holding a ritual dagger with a blue blade in his left, among swirling gold-coloured flames and clouds.
Painted in the black-and-gold style, the scene around him is filled with dark-skinned yogis in haloes, with topknots and white bone ornaments, seated, dancing or striding among palaces, stupas, trees and hills, and one flies across the starry sky at the top with small attendants, under a round moon and a crescent moon.
The painting is drawn in dense gold-coloured line work on black, inside a pink border.
