Padmasambhava sits on a pink lotus in his lotus hat and blue, gold-coloured and patterned robes, with a vajra in his right hand at his knee, a skull cup in his left hand in his lap, and a staff topped with heads and a trident in the crook of his left arm, its white streamers flying, framed by a green halo and an aureole of fine rays among pink lotuses and orange peonies.

Amitabha holding a blue bowl in meditation sits in the upper left corner and four-armed Chenrezig in the upper right, with a flaming jewel on a lotus at the top centre.

Below sit a scholar in a red pointed hat with a small stupa and a vase beside him, and a crowned king holding the stems of blue lotuses that carry a sword and a book, on dark green hills under grey clouds, with an offering of jewels at the centre, inside an ochre border.

Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.

Size: 60 × 79 cm (23.6 × 31.1 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
