Jambhala Thangka – 51×66 cm, Classic Grade
Yellow Jambhala sits on a lotus of pink, orange, teal and blue petals, holding a dark mongoose that spits a stream of jewels in his left hand and a dark citron at his knee in his right, his right foot stepping down onto a blue and white conch, framed by a teal halo patterned with gold-coloured flowers and an orange aureole of scrollwork and gold-coloured rays.
Shakyamuni Buddha sits among lotus buds at the top, a teal and a red Jambhala sit among clouds in the upper corners, and below, White Jambhala raises a staff at the lower left and a blue Jambhala stands on a figure on an orange lotus at the lower right, with a heap of jewels, a vase and coral between them.
The figures are set on a black ground drawn in gold-coloured line work, with teal hills, blue water, dark clouds, trees and pink and orange peonies.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.
Size: 51 × 66 cm (20.1 × 26.0 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
