Jambhala Thangka – 51×67 cm, Fine Grade · MH-2517
Yellow Jambhala, the wealth deity, sits on a pink lotus holding a black mongoose in his left hand and a dark round fruit in his right, his right foot stepping down onto a dark disc above blue clouds, framed by a gold-coloured halo and an aureole of fine gold-coloured rays.
A gold-coloured fan of rays rises from blue clouds at the top, a red and a green Jambhala, each embracing a consort, sit in the upper corners, and below, White Jambhala raises his arm among clouds on the left and dark blue Black Jambhala stands on a prone figure in a ring of gold-coloured flames on the right.
Painted in the black-and-gold style, the robes, peonies and hills are drawn in gold-coloured line work, with a vase, a flaming jewel on a lotus and a row of blue and pink jewels and tusks above blue waves at the centre below, inside a navy edge.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.
Size: 51 × 67 cm (20.1 × 26.4 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
