Vaishravana Thangka – 52×67 cm, Fine Grade · MH-2631
Yellow Vaishravana sits on a black snow lion with a curling mane drawn in gold-coloured line work, his right hand raised before his chest and a black mongoose in his left, with a victory banner rising behind his right shoulder and a jewelled crown on his head.
Auspicious symbols, among them an endless knot, a conch and a dharma wheel, sit in gold-coloured roundels among blue clouds above, with a pink lotus at the top centre, an aureole of fine gold-coloured rays and scrollwork behind him and pink peonies on either side.
The lion rests on a blue lotus above gold-coloured hills, waves and blue clouds, with a jewel on a pink lotus, a row of jewels, tusks and a vase below, all in gold-coloured line work on black inside a red border.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.
Size: 52 × 67 cm (20.5 × 26.4 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
