Jambhala Thangka – 52×67 cm, Fine Grade · MH-2633
Yellow Jambhala sits on a pink lotus with his right foot stepping down onto a dark blue conch, holding a dark fruit in his lowered right hand and a black mongoose in his left, wearing a jewelled crown, hoop earrings and a robe patterned in fine gold-coloured line work.
Painted in the black-and-gold style, he is framed by a dark halo with a gold-coloured rim and an aureole of fine gold-coloured rays and scrollwork, with pink peonies on either side and six gold-coloured roundels holding auspicious symbols, among them an endless knot and a wheel, among blue clouds above, around a pink lotus.
Below, gold-coloured hills, blue clouds and waves surround a jewel emblem on a small pink lotus and an offering of jewels, tusks and a vase, inside a red border.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.
Size: 52 × 67 cm (20.5 × 26.4 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
