Jambhala Thangka – 53×69 cm, Fine Grade
Yellow Jambhala, the wealth deity, sits on a pink lotus holding a blue-grey mongoose in his left hand and a round fruit in his right, his right foot stepping down onto a small blue lotus, framed by a blue halo and a gold-coloured aureole set with red and blue jewels.
Three Buddhas sit on lotuses above him: a red Buddha at the top centre, a golden Buddha touching the earth and holding a bowl at the upper left and a blue Buddha holding a bowl at the upper right; below, a golden bodhisattva and a blue figure, each holding a white stem, stand on blue lotuses at either side.
The whole ground is filled with dense gold-coloured clouds on black, with a dharma wheel topped by a conch on a blue lotus above an offering stand at the centre below and red and blue jewels in the lower corners, inside a red edge.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.
Size: 53 × 69 cm (20.9 × 27.2 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
