Jambhala Thangka – 60×83 cm, Fine Grade
Yellow Jambhala, the wealth deity, sits on a coral lotus wearing a jewelled crown and a white sash, holding a citron in his right hand and resting his left on a dark mongoose that spits a jewel, his right foot stepping down onto a white conch on a gold-coloured vase, framed by a green halo and a gold-coloured aureole set with jewels among pink and orange peonies.
A garuda spreads its wings at the top centre, Red Jambhala and Green Jambhala sit with their consorts in the upper corners, White Jambhala rides a green dragon at the lower left and Black Jambhala stands on a prone figure inside a ring of flames at the lower right, with offerings of jewels and elephant tusks between them.
Grey clouds fill a dark sky with a crescent moon and a sun in the upper corners, above green hills, waterfalls and a river, inside an ochre border.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.
Size: 60 × 83 cm (23.6 × 32.7 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
