The Kalachakra palace rises in nested square walls around a small centre, with a gateway topped by a tiered arch on each side, surrounded by rings of blue water, Kalachakra mantra syllables and dharma wheels.

A great halo of zigzag rays shades from white through blue to deep violet around the circle, on a dark brown ground.

Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas. Unmounted: it comes rolled, ready to frame or to have mounted.

Size: 55 × 55 cm (21.7 × 21.7 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →

In the box: the painting, rolled (never folded) in a strong tube.

About Kalachakra Mandala

The Kalachakra ("Wheel of Time") mandala shows the palace of the deity Kalachakra from above: nested square walls with a gateway on each side, set inside rings of fire, vajras, water and mantra syllables. It is one of the most complex mandalas in Tibetan Buddhism, and its geometry follows strict rules handed down by painters for centuries.
