Shipping & Return

The Kalachakra palace rises in nested square walls of blue, white, red, yellow and black around a small pink lotus at the centre, with dharma wheels and animals in the courts and a gateway topped by a tiered arch, lined with small offering figures, on each side.

Around it run rings of blue water, a red and black band of multicoloured Kalachakra mantra syllables with eight dharma wheels, a green ring and a scroll-patterned rim in gold-coloured, green and orange, set on an orange ground glowing golden-yellow around the circle.

Coloured cloud scrolls fill the corners, with offerings of the senses: cymbals, fruit, a mirror and a conch.

Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas. Unmounted: it comes rolled, ready to frame or to have mounted.

Size: 55 × 55 cm (21.7 × 21.7 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →

In the box: the painting, rolled (never folded) in a strong tube.

About Kalachakra Mandala

The Kalachakra ("Wheel of Time") mandala shows the palace of the deity Kalachakra from above: nested square walls with a gateway on each side, set inside rings of fire, vajras, water and mantra syllables. It is one of the most complex mandalas in Tibetan Buddhism, and its geometry follows strict rules handed down by painters for centuries.
