Shipping & Return

The Kalachakra palace rises in nested square walls drawn entirely in gold-coloured line work on black from a small four-petalled flower at the centre, with a gateway topped by a tiered arch on each side and small animals in the gateways.

Around it run a ring of swirling gold-coloured waves, a band of large gold-coloured Kalachakra syllables marked by dharma wheels, and a rim of gold-coloured flames and scrolls.

Gold-coloured cloud scrolls fill the four black corners, with a lotus flower, a conch, cymbals and a mirror among them.

Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.

Size: 106 × 106 cm (41.7 × 41.7 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →

About Kalachakra Mandala

The Kalachakra ("Wheel of Time") mandala shows the palace of the deity Kalachakra from above: nested square walls with a gateway on each side, set inside rings of fire, vajras, water and mantra syllables. It is one of the most complex mandalas in Tibetan Buddhism, and its geometry follows strict rules handed down by painters for centuries.
