Kalachakra Mandala Thangka – 107×107 cm, Fine Grade
The Kalachakra palace rises in nested square walls around a small four-petalled centre, with a gateway on each side, painted in gold-coloured and silver-coloured line work on black.
Rings of silver-coloured waves, gold-coloured and white Kalachakra mantra syllables and dharma wheels surround it, and gold-coloured and silver-coloured offerings of the senses fill the corners.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas. Unmounted: it comes rolled, ready to frame or to have mounted.
Size: 107 × 107 cm (42.1 × 42.1 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
In the box: the painting, rolled (never folded) in a strong tube.
About Kalachakra Mandala
The Kalachakra ("Wheel of Time") mandala shows the palace of the deity Kalachakra from above: nested square walls with a gateway on each side, set inside rings of fire, vajras, water and mantra syllables. It is one of the most complex mandalas in Tibetan Buddhism, and its geometry follows strict rules handed down by painters for centuries.
