Lokeshwor Thangka – 72×100 cm, Master Grade
Eleven-headed, thousand-armed Chenrezig stands on a moon disc on a pink lotus, his central hands joined at his heart around a clear jewel and his upper hands holding a dark mala and a blue lotus, with a pink deerskin over his left shoulder, green silk scarves and a great disc of hands, each with an eye on its palm, fanning out behind him.
His heads rise in three tiers of white, pink and turquoise faces, with a blue wrathful head and a small red Buddha head at the top, inside a pointed gold-coloured aureole set with jewels.
Yellow Manjushri sits at the lower left raising his sword, and blue Vajrapani stands in flames at the lower right, with an offering of coloured jewels and a flaming jewel between them.
Flowering trees, green hills, waterfalls and snow peaks surround him under a blue sky with white clouds, inside a maroon border.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.
Size: 72 × 100 cm (28.3 × 39.4 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
Also in this painting: Manjushri; Vajrapani
About Lokeshwor
