Maitreya Buddha Thangka – 43×59 cm, Fine Grade
Maitreya, the future Buddha, sits on a throne with both feet resting on a lotus, his right hand in the teaching gesture and his left holding the stem of a pink lotus bearing a dharma wheel, framed by a turquoise halo and a gold-coloured aureole edged with green clouds.
Two bodhisattvas stand on lotuses on either side below him, and a jewel rests on a lotus among peonies at the centre, against a deep blue ground.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas. Unmounted: it comes rolled, ready to frame or to have mounted.
Size: 43 × 59 cm (16.9 × 23.2 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
In the box: the painting, rolled (never folded) in a strong tube.
