Maitreya, the future Buddha, sits on a throne with both feet resting on lotuses and his hands at his heart in the teaching gesture, wearing a jewelled crown, painted in gold-coloured line work on a palette of deep blues.
Five Buddhas sit in haloes among clouds around him, two standing bodhisattvas flank the throne, and a seated wealth deity is set on a lotus below, against a background of blue peonies and waves.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas. Unmounted: it comes rolled, ready to frame or to have mounted.
