Vairocana Thangka – 44×55 cm, Classic Grade
Vairocana, the white Buddha among the Five Buddhas, sits in meditation on a lotus, both hands raised at his heart in the gesture of teaching, wearing a robe patterned in gold-coloured line work, framed by a green halo and a gold-coloured aureole set with jewels.
Peonies and leaves grow on either side, blue and orange clouds drift across a deep blue sky, and the lotus rises from a small pool in green hills, with an offering of jewels at the bottom.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas. Unmounted: it comes rolled, ready to frame or to have mounted.
Size: 44 × 55 cm (17.3 × 21.7 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
In the box: the painting, rolled (never folded) in a strong tube.
