Manjushri sits on a lotus, raising a flaming sword in his right hand and holding at his heart the stem of a lotus that opens at his left shoulder with a book resting on it, his yellow body set against a ground of gold-coloured paint covered in fine line work of clouds, waves and flowers.

Five Buddhas sit in haloes across the top; below, four-armed Chenrezig sits on the left and dark blue Vajrapani stands in flames on the right, with heaps of jewels between them and blue peaks at both sides, inside a red border.

Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas. Unmounted: it comes rolled, ready to frame or to have mounted.

Size: 58 × 83 cm (22.8 × 32.7 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →

In the box: the painting, rolled (never folded) in a strong tube.

Also in this painting: Buddhas, Chenrezig, Vajrapani
