Manjushri Thangka – 51×67 cm, Fine Grade
Yellow Manjushri sits on a white moon disc on a pink lotus, raising a dark flaming sword in his right hand, his left hand at his heart in the teaching gesture holding the stem of a blue lotus that carries a book at his left shoulder, wearing a jewelled crown with blue and pink flowers, hoop earrings, dark beaded necklaces, a white sash and green silk scarves.
A dark green halo edged with gold-coloured scrolls and an aureole of fine gold-coloured rays with a jewelled gold-coloured rim frame him against a black ground filled with gold-coloured scrollwork, pink lotuses, buds and green leaves, with pink peonies on either side.
An offering of a jewel emblem and white tusks sits on a lotus below the seat, and the painting is framed by an orange border.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.
Size: 51 × 67 cm (20.1 × 26.4 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
