Manjushri Thangka – 50×66 cm, Fine Grade
Golden Manjushri sits cross-legged on a pink lotus, raising in his right hand a sword drawn in gold-coloured line work against his aureole, his left hand at his heart in the teaching gesture holding the stem of a blue lotus that carries a book at his shoulder, framed by a gold-coloured halo and an aureole of fine gold-coloured rays.
Painted in the black-and-gold style, his robes and the leafy branches around him are drawn in gold-coloured line work on black, with two gold-coloured dragons among blue clouds in the upper corners and peonies on either side.
A dharma wheel rises from a blue lotus at the centre below, among gold-coloured hills, blue clouds and waves, above an offering of coloured jewels and tusks, inside a navy edge.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.
Size: 50 × 66 cm (19.7 × 26.0 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
