Medicine Buddha Thangka – 60×83 cm, Master Grade
The blue Medicine Buddha sits on a lotus throne, his right hand at his knee holding a sprig of myrobalan and his left holding a bowl in his lap, his orange robe covered in gold-coloured patterning, framed by a green halo with a pink rim and a gold-coloured aureole, among peonies.
Red Amitabha and Shakyamuni sit in roundels on clouds in the upper corners, with rainbow rays and a jewel at the top; below, two disciples stand in rayed haloes holding staffs and alms bowls, with an offering of jewels between them, in a landscape of rivers, hills and snow peaks.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas. Unmounted: it comes rolled, ready to frame or to have mounted.
Size: 60 × 83 cm (23.6 × 32.7 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
In the box: the painting, rolled (never folded) in a strong tube.
Also in this painting: Amitabha, Shakyamuni, two disciples
