Medicine Buddha Thangka – 63×83 cm, Fine Grade
The blue Medicine Buddha sits on an orange lotus, his right hand at his knee holding a sprig of myrobalan and his left holding a blue and white bowl of medicine in his lap, wrapped in robes of gold-coloured patterning, framed by a green halo filled with gold-coloured patterning and an aureole of fine blue rays.
Peonies and blue and green leaves crowd around him on a red ground of fine cloud patterns, beneath a jewelled canopy topped by a flaming jewel; below the lotus, an offering bowl hung with white ribbons stands between jewels and tusks on the water, inside a blue border.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas. Unmounted: it comes rolled, ready to frame or to have mounted.
Size: 63 × 83 cm (24.8 × 32.7 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
In the box: the painting, rolled (never folded) in a strong tube.
