Medicine Buddha Thangka – 51×66 cm, Classic Grade
The blue Medicine Buddha sits on a lotus holding a bowl of medicine in his left hand, his right hand at his knee holding a sprig of myrobalan; only his body is painted blue, and the rest is drawn in fine white line work on a black ground.
Lotuses and leaves fill the aureole behind him, clouds curl in the upper corners, and the throne rises above grey hills, waves and small birds, with an offering of jewels at the foot, inside a yellow border.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas. Unmounted: it comes rolled, ready to frame or to have mounted.
Size: 51 × 66 cm (20.1 × 26.0 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
In the box: the painting, rolled (never folded) in a strong tube.
