Milarepa Thangka – 45×60 cm, Fine Grade
Milarepa, the great yogi, sits on an antelope skin in a mountain landscape, wearing a white cotton robe, his right hand resting on his knee, before a red vessel with gold-coloured detail.
Around him the painting tells the story of the hunter Gonpo Dorje: the hunter draws his bow at the left, his dog and the deer lie quiet at Milarepa's feet, and disciples in white robes sit below; a meditating yogi sits in a rocky cave at the upper left, beside a twisted tree and a waterfall.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas. Unmounted: it comes rolled, ready to frame or to have mounted.
Size: 45 × 60 cm (17.7 × 23.6 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
In the box: the painting, rolled (never folded) in a strong tube.
Also in this painting: The hunter Gonpo Dorje, disciples, a meditating yogi
