Padmasambhava sits on a lotus wearing his lotus hat topped with a feather, holding a vajra at his right knee and a skull cup with a long-life vase in his left hand in his lap, with a staff topped by a trident, three heads and a white scarf in the crook of his left arm.

He wears a blue robe and a brown cloak covered in gold-coloured patterns, framed by a green halo, an aureole of fine dark rays and a gold-coloured outer aureole set with jewels, between orange peonies and green leaves.

Two female figures sit on lotuses in roundels below, one holding an arrow hung with a silk ribbon and a vase, the other a bowl, with a jewel on a lotus between them, among hills, rocks, waterfalls and snow peaks under brown and blue clouds, inside a brown border.

Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.

Size: 49 × 68 cm (19.3 × 26.8 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
