Tsongkhapa sits on a lotus throne wearing his yellow pointed hat, his hands at his heart in the teaching gesture holding the stems of two lotuses that bear a sword and a book at his shoulders, framed by a green halo and a gold-coloured aureole.

His two main disciples, also in yellow hats, sit on cushions below, a teacher sits in the upper left among clouds and a wrathful blue protector stands in flames in the upper right, with peonies and an offering of jewels in a green landscape.

Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas. Unmounted: it comes rolled, ready to frame or to have mounted.

Size: 58 × 83 cm (22.8 × 32.7 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →

In the box: the painting, rolled (never folded) in a strong tube.

Also in this painting: Two disciples, a teacher, a protector
