Shakyamuni Buddha sits in meditation, his right hand touching the earth and his left holding a bowl, his robe drawn in fine gold-coloured line work against a deep blue ground.

Behind him, a halo of gold-coloured dragons and phoenixes rises among clouds, and blue and gold-coloured peonies and leaves fill the painting around him.

Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas. Unmounted: it comes rolled, ready to frame or to have mounted.

Size: 57 × 81 cm (22.4 × 31.9 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →

In the box: the painting, rolled (never folded) in a strong tube.
