Shakyamuni Buddha sits on a pink and orange lotus, his right hand touching the earth and his left holding a blue alms bowl, framed by an orange halo with a pink rim and a gold-coloured aureole set with jewels.

The five Buddhas, blue, yellow, white, red and green, sit in rayed haloes on clouds across the top; his two disciples stand in rayed haloes at the lower left and right holding alms bowls, and below, an offering of jewels rests on the water among green hills and snow peaks.

Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas. Unmounted: it comes rolled, ready to frame or to have mounted.

Size: 58 × 84 cm (22.8 × 33.1 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →

In the box: the painting, rolled (never folded) in a strong tube.

Also in this painting: The five Buddhas, two disciples
