Shakyamuni Buddha sits on a large pink lotus, his right hand touching the earth and his left holding a blue bowl in his lap, his robe densely patterned in gold-coloured line work, framed by a green halo edged with gold-coloured scrolls and an aureole of fine rays inside a gold-coloured border set with jewels.

Pink peonies, lotus buds and dark leaves rise on either side against a sky that shades from black to orange, and gold-coloured scrollwork and pink lotuses frame the four corners.

An offering of a flaming jewel, a conch and tusks stands on a small lotus at the centre below, on a dark green ground inside a pale peach border.

Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.

Size: 52 × 69 cm (20.5 × 27.2 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
