Shakyamuni Buddha Thangka – 31×43 cm, Classic Grade
Shakyamuni Buddha sits on a lotus of blue, green and coral petals, his right hand touching the earth and his left holding a dark blue bowl in his lap, wearing an orange robe, framed by a pale green halo and a dark blue aureole of fine rays inside a band of gold-coloured scrollwork set with red and blue jewels.
Green leafy branches rise on either side and above his halo, and blue and green clouds drift across a pale khaki sky.
The lotus stands on green hills between two streams and rocky banks, with an offering of jewels, a flaming jewel and elephant tusks at the foot, inside a dark brown border.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.
Size: 31 × 43 cm (12.2 × 16.9 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
