Shakyamuni Buddha Thangka – 72×100 cm, Fine Grade
Shakyamuni Buddha sits cross-legged on a white moon disc and a pink lotus, touching the earth with his right hand and holding a dark blue bowl in his left, in robes patterned in gold-coloured line work, framed by an orange halo, a blue band of fine gold-coloured rays and a gold-coloured aureole set with red and blue jewels.
White four-armed Chenrezig sits on clouds at the upper left, a red Buddha holding a bowl at the top and Padmasambhava with his staff and skull cup at the upper right; below, two monks with staffs and bowls stand on lotuses at either side.
Pink peonies and lotus buds surround him against an orange sky with pink, white and blue clouds, above snow peaks, green hills and a stream, with offerings of jewels in flames, vases, a conch and fruit at the centre below, inside a maroon edge.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.
Size: 72 × 100 cm (28.3 × 39.4 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
