Shakyamuni Buddha sits on a large red lotus, his right hand touching the earth and his left holding a blue alms bowl in his lap, his robe patterned in gold-coloured line work, framed by a green halo and a spreading tree.

Orange and red flowers grow on either side against a plain deep blue ground, and an offering of jewels, conch, vase and auspicious objects is set out below.

Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas. Unmounted: it comes rolled, ready to frame or to have mounted.

Size: 59 × 80 cm (23.2 × 31.5 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →

In the box: the painting, rolled (never folded) in a strong tube.
