Vajrasattva Thangka – 50×66 cm, Classic Grade
White Vajrasattva sits cross-legged on a white moon disc and a pink lotus, holding a gold-coloured vajra at his heart in his right hand and a blue bell at his hip in his left, wearing a jewelled crown set with blue and red flowers, a green blouse patterned with gold-coloured flowers and green scarves edged with gold-coloured spirals.
A yellow halo with a green rim, an aureole of fine gold-coloured rays on a dark ground and an outer gold-coloured aureole of scrollwork set with jewels frame him, between pink peonies on leafy stems, with a large peony above his head.
Below, a gold-coloured mirror stands on a pink peony above blue water, between gold-coloured bowls of jewels and fruit, with a heap of jewels in flames and a pair of tusks at the centre below, among green hills and snow peaks under a sky that fades from olive to golden yellow with pale yellow clouds, inside a red border.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.
Size: 50 × 66 cm (19.7 × 26.0 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
