White Manjushri Thangka – 59×83 cm, Fine Grade
White Manjushri sits on a pink lotus with both hands at his heart in the teaching gesture, holding the stem of a lotus that opens at his left shoulder with a book resting on it; his white body wears a jewelled crown with blue flowers, a blue sash and silk scarves, framed by a green halo filled with gold-coloured patterning and an aureole of fine blue rays.
Peonies and blue and green leaves crowd around him on a red ground of fine cloud patterns, beneath a jewelled canopy topped by a flaming jewel; below the lotus, an offering bowl hung with white ribbons stands between jewels and tusks on the water, inside a blue border.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas. Unmounted: it comes rolled, ready to frame or to have mounted.
Size: 59 × 83 cm (23.2 × 32.7 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
In the box: the painting, rolled (never folded) in a strong tube.
