White Tara sits on a pink lotus, her right hand on her knee in the gesture of giving and her left at her heart holding the stem of a blue flower that opens at her shoulder, with eyes on her forehead and palms, large gold-coloured earrings and dark hair filled with gold-coloured flowers.

Crowned red Amitayus sits on a pink lotus at the top, a yellow Buddha holding a bowl at the upper left and the blue Medicine Buddha at the upper right, and a yellow and a blue bodhisattva stand on blue lotuses in the lower corners.

Painted in the black-and-gold style, she is framed by a dark halo with a gold-coloured rim and an aureole set with red and blue jewels against dense gold-coloured clouds, with pink and blue peonies around her and a dharma wheel and jewel emblem on a blue lotus below, inside a maroon border.

Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.

Size: 54 × 70 cm (21.3 × 27.6 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →

Also in this painting: Amitayus; Medicine Buddha
