White Tara Thangka – 58×79 cm, Fine Grade
White Tara sits in meditation on a peach lotus, with eyes on her forehead and palms, her right hand on her knee in the gesture of giving and her left hand at her heart holding the stem of a blue lotus that opens beside her shoulder, framed by a pale green halo and a gold-coloured aureole set with jewels.
Shakyamuni Buddha holding a blue bowl sits in the upper left corner and blue Medicine Buddha in the upper right, with a cluster of flaming jewels on an orange lotus at the top centre; below, white Vajrasattva holding a vajra and bell sits at the lower left, and a white goddess holding a blue lotus at the lower right.
Pink lotuses and orange peonies rise on either side against grey clouds, above green hills with an orange peony at the centre and a small offering of jewels in flames and tusks below it, inside an ochre edge.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.
Size: 58 × 79 cm (22.8 × 31.1 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
