Akasagarbha Thangka – 57×81 cm, Fine Grade
White Akasagarbha sits cross-legged, holding a dark red sword upright in his right hand, his left hand resting at his hip, with a dark red lotus bearing three pink jewels in flames rising at his left shoulder.
He wears a tall gold-coloured crown hung with ornaments, large hoop earrings, a gold-coloured necklace, armlets and bracelets, a deep red sash over his left shoulder and red lower robes patterned in gold-coloured line work, framed by gold-coloured filigree around his head and a body halo of yellow rays.
Peonies, clouds and two dragons are drawn in darker red line work across the red ground, with a fierce face at the top, a round gold-coloured jewel in a flame-shaped frame on a stand below him and offerings drawn in red line work at the bottom, inside a dark brown border.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.
Size: 57 × 81 cm (22.4 × 31.9 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
