Yamantaka Thangka – 97×133 cm, Fine Grade
Blue Yamantaka stands in a ring of orange flames, his three-eyed buffalo head with flaming brows crowned with skulls and topped by a red wrathful head and a small yellow head, with more heads in white, red and brown on one side and yellow, blue and green on the other.
His many arms fan out holding weapons, implements and flayed skins, his central hands holding a curved knife and a skull cup at his heart, and he wears a garland of heads and a green snake as his many legs trample figures on a yellow base.
Three lamas sit above him, one on a pink lotus beneath rainbow rays at the top and one in a yellow pointed hat on gold-coloured clouds at each side, in a dark blue sky with birds and yellow clouds.
Below, three wrathful protectors stand in flames among green hills, dark trees and water, one red and two blue, with skull cups of offerings, inside a red-brown border.

About Yamantaka
Yamantaka, "destroyer of death", is the wrathful form of Manjushri. He has a buffalo head, many arms and legs, and is often shown in union with his consort, trampling figures that stand for death and ignorance.
