Yamantaka Thangka – 88×120 cm, Master Grade
Dark blue Yamantaka stands in a great blaze of orange, white and turquoise flames, his three-eyed buffalo head crowned with skulls and flanked by more heads in pink, yellow, white and grey-green, with a red wrathful head and a small yellow peaceful head rising above.
His many arms fan out on either side holding weapons, implements and stretched white skins, his central hands holding a curved knife and a skull cup at his heart, and he wears a garland of heads as his many legs trample people, animals and deities on a yellow patterned base set on a lotus of blue, turquoise, pink and orange petals.
Two dragons coil among grey clouds in the upper corners, and three wrathful deities in flames stand among olive hills and waterfalls below: a blue figure riding a tiger at the left, a winged, many-headed blue figure in union with a consort at the centre, and a red figure on dark clouds at the right, inside a pink border.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.
Size: 88 × 120 cm (34.6 × 47.2 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
About Yamantaka
