Chenrezig Thangka – 57×76 cm, Master Grade
Four-armed Chenrezig sits on a moon disc on a pink lotus, two hands joined at his heart around a blue jewel, a mala in his upper right hand and the stem of an orange peony in his upper left, with a deerskin over his left shoulder, framed by a pale green halo patterned in gold-coloured line work and a gold-coloured aureole set with jewels.
Red Amitayus, crowned and holding a vase, sits among peonies at the top centre, with Shakyamuni Buddha touching the earth at the upper left and a blue Buddha holding a bowl at the upper right; below, golden Manjushri raises his flaming sword at the left and blue Vajrapani stands in flames at the right.
Between them a stand on a lotus holds a dharma wheel, a vase and a conch, with offerings of jewels, flames and tusks along the bottom, against snow peaks, green hills, trees and streams under a blue sky with clouds, inside a crimson border.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.
Size: 57 × 76 cm (22.4 × 29.9 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
