Green Tara Thangka – 53×68 cm, Classic Grade
Green Tara sits on a pink and orange lotus, her right leg stepping down onto a blue lotus, her right hand in the gesture of giving and her left at her heart holding the stems of blue peonies that open at her shoulders, framed by a red-brown halo patterned with gold-coloured birds and clouds and a gold-coloured aureole set with coloured jewels.
Golden Shakyamuni Buddha sits in the upper left corner, a crowned pink figure in meditation at the top centre and blue Medicine Buddha in the upper right, and below sit a pink crowned bodhisattva at the left and white Saraswati playing a vina at the right, with a dharma wheel and an offering on a lotus stand between them.
Painted largely in gold-coloured line work on black, the ground is filled with clouds, hills, blue waves and pink and orange peonies, inside a maroon border.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.
Size: 53 × 68 cm (20.9 × 26.8 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
