Green Tara Thangka – 52×67 cm, Fine Grade
Green Tara sits on a pink lotus, her right foot stepping down onto a dark disc above blue clouds, her right hand reaching down in the gesture of giving and holding the stem of a pink peony, and her left hand at her heart holding the stem of a blue peony that opens beside her shoulder, framed by a gold-coloured halo and an aureole of fine gold-coloured rays.
Painted in the black-and-gold style, her robes, the leafy branches and the hills below are drawn in gold-coloured line work on black, with pink and mauve peonies on either side.
Six gold-coloured roundels with auspicious symbols, among them an endless knot, a conch and a wheel, arch through blue clouds above her around a pink lotus, a pink peony blooms below her lotus seat, and jewels in flames and tusks rest among gold-coloured hills above blue waves at the base, inside a blue-grey edge.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.
Size: 52 × 67 cm (20.5 × 26.4 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
