Green Tara Thangka – 56×78 cm, Master Grade
Green Tara sits on a lotus, her right leg stepping down onto a smaller lotus and her right hand lowered in the gesture of giving, her left hand at her heart holding the stem of a blue flower that opens at her shoulder, wearing a jewelled crown, gold-coloured hoop earrings, a white sash, orange silk scarves and a pale blue robe, framed by a large orange halo and an aureole of fine rays with a gold-coloured rim.
Shakyamuni Buddha, holding a bowl, sits among blue clouds at the upper left and the blue Medicine Buddha among green clouds at the upper right; white Vajrasattva, holding a vajra at his heart, sits at the lower left and a white goddess holding a pink lotus at the lower right.
Blue, pink and white peonies grow around her among green hills, snow peaks and a river, under a deep blue sky with a crescent moon, with an offering of jewels, a conch and tusks at the foot, inside a red border.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.
Size: 56 × 78 cm (22.0 × 30.7 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
