Green Tara Thangka – 59×81 cm, Fine Grade
Green Tara sits on a blue lotus, her right foot stepping down, her right hand in the gesture of giving at her knee and her left at her heart holding the stem of a blue flower, her robe and aureole drawn in fine gold-coloured line work with two small dragons in her halo.
Shakyamuni Buddha sits at the upper left and a blue Buddha holding a bowl at the upper right among blue clouds, with a jewel on an orange flower at the top centre; below, a white bodhisattva holding a flower stem sits at the left and Saraswati playing a vina at the right, on pink lotuses.
Painted in the black-and-gold style, she sits among pink and blue peonies and gold-coloured leaves, with gold-coloured hills, a large peony and an offering of jewels and tusks below, inside a yellow-green border.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.
Size: 59 × 81 cm (23.2 × 31.9 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
