Green Tara Thangka – 59×81 cm, Master Grade
Green Tara sits on a lotus with her right foot stepping down onto a smaller lotus, her right hand in the gesture of giving and her left at her heart holding the stem of a blue lotus, framed by a yellow halo and a wide gold-coloured aureole beneath a faint rainbow.
Red Amitabha sits in a shrine at the top among four Buddhas in haloes, with four-armed Chenrezig and Manjushri on the left and White Tara and blue Vajrapani in flames on the right; offering figures ride clouds in the upper corners.
Below, peonies and lotuses bloom above a river where naga maidens rise holding offerings, among hills, waterfalls and snow peaks, inside a yellow border.
