Jambhala Mantra Mandala Thangka – 56×56 cm, Fine Grade · ET-6305
At the centre, yellow Jambhala sits on a lotus in a small roundel among pink peonies and orange leaves, holding a speckled pink fruit in his right hand and a black mongoose in his left, his right foot stepping down, against a red halo.
Around him, auspicious symbols, among them a dharma wheel, an endless knot and a conch, are drawn in white line work on a blue lotus, and rings of white Tibetan mantra script circle out on red bands and then on black.
A rim of white scroll patterning with small red panels closes the circle, with pink and blue peonies in the black corners, inside an orange border.
Hand-painted in Nepal on cotton canvas.
Size: 56 × 56 cm (22.0 × 22.0 in), including the painted border. Hand-painted, so allow ±1–2 cm. Size guide →
About Mantra Mandala
A mantra mandala arranges the syllables of a mantra, most often Om Mani Padme Hum, in rings around a central seed syllable. Each ring is lettered by hand, and the finest are painted in fine gold-coloured script on black.
